About Us

Motel Tipton is a 13-room boutique motel that is family owned and lovingly operated in Tipton, Iowa. The motel has been completely renovated and refreshed to current industry standards. Rooms are; 1 Single Queen, 8 Double Queen with one being a pet friendly room, 3 King and 1 ADA King rooms. The deluxe rooms are clean, clean, clean… with décor that pays tribute to American patriotism plus the local Iowa retro style.

We are a small business and want to provide you with reasonable rates, plus a memorable stay! Therefore, we do our best to provide value for your money. We offer the following discounts:

Announcement:
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of our new management team at Motel Tipton. Please join us in welcoming Lisa, Eric and Lucas Sutton who bring a wealth of experience and passion for hospitality to our beloved motel and the City of Tipton, Iowa.
Lisa joins us with a degree in hospitality and restaurant Management from the American Institute of Commerce. She has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having managed at variety of restaurants. Lisa also has a background as an EMT with the Bennett Ambulance service and as a 911 dispatcher for Cedar and Muscatine Counties. Lisa is dedicated to the motel, the community and making a positive impact.
Eric, has a degree in microbiology and chemistry from Western Illinois University. He comes to us with 24 years serving as a Military Officer in the US Army and for over ten years, he has worked as a Reserve for the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office. Eric is on the Board of Directors for the Hardacre Theater. He currently works in the medical industry. He also has a wealth of knowledge with machining and maintenance management.
Lucas is a Senior at Tipton High School and graduated in May, 2024. He will assist in the day-to-day operations at the motel. In the near future, he will enroll in Aviation Engineering with the US Airforce.
Their commitment to excellence and attention to detail will undoubtedly enhance our guests' stays. Their dedication to providing exceptional guest experiences aligns perfectly with our vision at Motel Tipton.

Words cannot express how wonderful this little motel in Tipton, IA is. Everything was sparkling clean and attractive. It was below zero outside but thanks to their boiler(silent) heat, it was very comfortable! We were there on business but had to extend our stay which they did with no fuss. Is there a word better than “perfect “?
